We cant get through a full day with out charging a Redmote. Any one any plans for an external battery for a Redmote ? or is using an external power source even possible ?

Hi Dave, not sure if you have seen this, but View Factor has a solution for Ptap power.

http://www.viewfactor.net/index.php/products/epic-acc/ptap-usb.html

You could get a cheap battery plate and keep it with the redmote for charging and portable use. Or View Factor makes a piece to hang it off any 1/4 20. Either way with a long cable, it allows you some flexibility to charge and still use the redmote off the back of the camera, or hand use. Or if you keep this connected to your one Ptao outlet, you can get a 5 port splitter from Anton Bauer, plug this in and have a long usb. Good luck!

Thanks all.

The Dtap device sounds good as do many of the USB power devices.

So long as it continues working whilst under USB power then we will be OK, its being charged on set on a macbook at the moment, but then we are in the middle of the Desert, Jungle Antarctica which we will be we need to keep it charged.

All ideas welcome on this subject.
