It would be great if the REDMAG Readers had a status indicator on the front that worked in a similar way to the REDMAG Module on the camera.

I was thinking this indicator might show:

Red light for power on and no REDMAG detected (as currently)
Green light for REDMAG SSD docked and connected successfully to the computer.

Or perhaps the other way around..??!

It would then be quick an easy to double check that it's cool to remove the REDMAG without searching for it visually on the (sometime cluttered) desktop or if people are gathered around computer and you don't want to interrupt but you see that you can safely remove REDMAG using that indicator.

Just a thought !

Maybe the REDMAG Mini's already have this ? I have older Large style reader.

And while you're at it, please add Thunderbolt 2 to the reader. Faster transfer speeds (4 times as much as USB 3) would be nice.
But that would need faster REDMAGs too. USB3.0 matches pretty good to what today's (SATAIII 6Gbps based) SSDs can deliver.

BTW, how about adding some LEDs or a little OLED-display to the REDMAGs?

The most important feature is Thunderbolt and a proper USB-3 Connector, a large one. Or better a locking Lemo Connector.
The LED should be lighting green when the dock is on USB 3 5GBit/s Bus, and yellow on 480 MBit/s Bus.
