  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedMag offloading on the go?

Olivier, can you please give more precisions about your laptop ? Model, price ? Thanks,

Kristin

On my 4 kilos notebook, i have 3 SSD for a total of 2,5 TB of data. 32 G° of RAM, a GTX 680. You can edit a full film in R3D with that, and I copy RRed SSD at 170 Meg/sec in USB3.
Very easy if you are just able to forget Apple...

Olivier

bus powered usb3 drives plus a halfway decent laptop is a good small form factor data cart. whether you go for pc or mac doesn't make a difference... just grab a bunch of portables and get it done...you could even use a mac air if your willing to do playback not in full quality...

Thanks :) michael, you need to power the red station even with a notebook?
Or is that an example for using the nextodi..? I have a good 10000mah usb battery .. I can use that :)
Might go the nextodi 2525 option. Wonder if its lighter than a notebook..

When I'm coping files, I'm often using both USB 3.0 ports. I find the SSD reader is faster when it has additional power. So yes, I do use it. Also I find which port you have things plugged into affects the speed of transfers.

This is on a Retina, right Mike?
