I was just wondering if the REDMAG- MINI MAG Trade-IN still exists?

Yes, although I don't work for Red, I have not seen that it has been cancelled. Here are the details that Red sent me:

• The REDMAGS must have been purchased by you, and located on your account. (In this case you have only 4 eligible REDMAGS)
• You would place an order online for the new cards and then immediately let me know once you’ve had them delivered to you. Once you receive the cards, I would THEN get you in contact with the RMA department who would facilitate the evaluation and return shipping of your 8 current 1.8” REDMAG cards.
• The amount refunded on $950 per card will come after the initial purchase of the 512GB Mini-Mags and evaluation of the REDMAGS cards is completed.
• $950 value per card, no matter the REDMAG size (48GB REDMAG not eligible)
• 1:1 ratio on a trade in, per new card
• The trade-in is only effective for a single purchase
• 512GB MINI-Mag Cards are the only eligible cards in this program.

I can confirm that the trade-in still exists. Today RED confirmed this.

Does anyone know how long the trade-in program will run? We are debating how many of our cards to trade in this year vs next year.

What size cards do you have? Depending on the size I would be interested in 1 or 2 at the $950.00 mark that red will offer.

The program does indeed still exist. I was told the program currently does not have an end date. This was as of last month. All cards I was told are eligible except the 64 gig cards. Whats great is that all cards are valued @ $950 regardless if you are trading in a 128 or a 240 1.8. For those of you with 128 gig cards thats a pretty sweet deal. The downside is that it takes weeks for evaluation so it takes a while for the credit to appear on your account. As mentioned it is a one for one trade. You must buy at least 512 gig cards to be eligible. If you have the funds I'd say trade in as much as you can. I purchased two 512's. Well worth it.

Yes - last I heard 64G cards are eligible. This direct from my bomb squad rep.

It is a one shot deal - you cannot do multiple bites at the apple.


You do need to be the original purchaser of the MAGs from RED.

Confirming that 64's qualify.
