Let me ask you guys, i feel like till i installed RC3 i have never really seen a spot on representation of red before.... The color red, is hard to reproduce, along with purple and dark blue.

My F3 can see violets, and deep purples accurately, but its red is still a bit thin.

The scarlet can actually see red pretty well. i figure the 16bit RAW bitdepth gives it the room to hold the color.

Am i crazy? i've been putting red in every shot this past week, because it looks right for the first time. Thoughts? Anyone else seeing this or am i just nuts......

You aren't crazy. There is also another thread that talks about this... some neat findings with RC3/RG3. Definitely bumping things up a notch or three!

Turned on my epic for the FIRST time today and installed the new firmware. You are right. I feel that this is a tremendous leap forward for Red Camera. The colour rendition is looking stunning including the delicious reds.

Can someone please write something about that 16bit? Because i'm not really sure that it is 16 bit, i think probably more like 12bit and then converted to 16bit in RCX. Same thing ACR does with Canon RAW stills, even though they are 12bit.

About 90% sure either Graeme or Jarred confirmed the epic/scarlet is 16 bit.
