I brought in some Red Epic footage via AMA and right clicked on the clip/change settings and the only option I am given for Red Color and Gamma space is Redcolor2. Does Avid MC6 not support Redcolor space3 or am I missing a current AMA plugin?

Right now, the last AMA R3D plugin does not support RedGamma3, RedColor3 and HDRx.

I really hope Red will update the plugin soon !

If I recall, the latest version of the AMA plug-in will apply RedGamm3 and RedColor3 if set that way in the RMD from RCXPro. But I need to test that again t be sure. It would be nice to have the selection in the source settings, but I wouldn't hold my breath for HDRx in the next release.

I did a little more investigation and I was wrong about the RMD support of the "3" color space. Neither RedGamma3 nor RedColor3 are supported at this time via AMA. Only solution is to transcode with Redcine X Pro.

Tarsem, I believe the look will be applied, but RC and RG 3 won't be.

Yes RC and RG 3 settings applied in footage. But this will not show in source settings.

I did a test with two separate RMD files to the same R3D clip. One with color science 2 and different ISO and Exposure than the one with color science 3. When selecting the color science 3 file, the image blinks a few times, indicates the setting is now "custom" but none of the values appear in source settings or in the bin metadata columns - not even exposure and ISO. This leads me to believe nothing is being applied. I am awaiting for official work from Avid as I reserve the right to be wrong. See attached files of the RMD XML for the color science 3 file and the result in the bin.

OK... I got official email confirmation from Avid that RedGamma 3 and RedColor3 are NOT supported at this time. They are hoping for some time in the future to add this.
