I shot two interviews yesterday in 4k 2:1 and previewed the clips in camera, they show up with no problem, video and audio are great. When I try pulling them into FCP (6.0.2) using the Log and Transfer function, my other clips on the drive pull in fine, but when I scroll down the list to my new clips, FCP crashes, stating "The application Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly. The problem may have been caused by the REDCODE.QT plug-in." I receive the same error when I try to play the quicktime files on the drive. Same error when I copy the data from the Red drive to another hard drive. RedAlert crashes with the same error.

My footage looks like the one in this link (with the garble at the bottom) http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthr...ighlight=crash. My settings say 2:1, although they look like 16:9.

When I pull the files into RedCine, they play, but there's no audio. Can anyone assist? Thanks much

QuickTime Codec doesn't support 16:9 yet.
RedCine doesn't suppprt audio yet.

How would I save the footage? Since the image plays in RedCine, and since audio plays back in camera okay, would it work if I found a way to export the audio out thru the headphone jack onto a DAT recorder?

If not, do you have any suggestions about getting the audio? Thanks.

Thanks, but each proxy file crashes QT, and FCP crashes during ingest. I am trying to export by playing the file in camera with a DAT hooked into the headphone port. I cannot yet locate a cable for the audio out jack. Any other ideas? Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the links. I wasn't able to try the headphone output, but will sometime before tomorrow. Any other ideas?

Same thing is happening with me..

Same thing is happening with me. Any updates?
One computer a G5 imac I tried it on will play the files in quicktime but will only play the audio and the picture appears as a white screen. I haven't tried exporting audio from this this file yet, but I will try soon, since I can only see the picture in Redcine. What's weird is that G5 iMac that only plays back audio is running the same version of Quicktime 7.4.5 as the machine that plays it with the acid trip picture then crashes. Maybe it has to do with the Intel chip vs the G5 chip. I don't know but worth a try.

I was able to offline the audio thru the headphone jack. Sounds like the normal audio (quality-wise) to me. Used a cable that had a mini-jack (small headphone plug) one one end (to the camera) and an XLR male on the other end (to the DAT recorder). I played each clip and recorded it into the DAT. All seems okay with this rescue.

Extracted the video thru RedCine, although I haven't checked it yet (took several hours overnite).

i had to do the exact same thing. made me feel like a caveman because apple and red can't get their sh** together. I wasn't too happy. you would think red and apple go together but not yet.

here someone with the same problem. just got shooting today and tried to ingest the footage into FCP 6.0.3 using the Log & Transfer method. It all goes well until FCP actually has to go read the footage from the disk.
I also tried dragging the footage onto the harddrive and then using this method to ingest it, but still no luck.

Anybody here already getting somewhere close to a proper solution?? Cuz here we wanna get our footage via the general way into our FCP.
