Hey everyone,

I'm shooting a short and editing RED footage for the first time. I've done a lot of research and what like a bit of help. My thought was to just bright all the footage to Premiere and editing natively in there. However, then I thought to do all my of corrections in RedCineX, export out as ProRes, then editing in FCP. Since I already have a bunch of plugins I'd like to use for FCP, is one way going to be that much better then another?
Thanks.

If you go premiere from Redcine or even importing the raw clips directly, you still have access to adjusting the raw meta data within premiere. If you go the FCP route you have to commit to some sort of baked in color correction - until apple releases native red files within fcpx.

Also, I feel like an idiot but I can't find to codec package for Premiere anywhere. I tried downloading something off REDs website but that didn't work. These are my options when I load Premiere.

Again, thank you for you're help.

I forgot to mention that, I'm using CS6.

I can import the footage just fine, but I'm wondering if something is wrong because there are no 4K settings.

There was some posting recently that the latest update to CS6 (ie Adobe updater) created some problems.

I can't remember exactly what it was - but some users were having problems...
