  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X V2

Hey John Friday,

Little off topic comment...you live in La Paz, Baja California, and I live in La Paz, Bolivia. Interesting to know we got fellow redusers there. It's always called my attention when the time in our computers is set to La Paz and we're off by several hours...only to realize, "OHHH...La Paz, Baja California...not our La Paz."

Sorry guys to use this thread to talk about this...

BTW...bump my question again...when's the BEAUTIFUL RCX for Windows coming? I'm a little more than desperate.

Thanks for all your work

A couple things

A couple things

Agreed on the ability to breakout the panels into floating windows. It's nice having the ability to have everything in one window, as opposed to having to scroll up and down to get to the different things.

Also, I said this once before, but I would personally love the ability to create new bins. I've run into a situation multiple times where I was wishing I had more than just the three. It would've saved a lot of time.

Those are my biggest "wishes." I'm really liking the new interface. One frustrating thing to note is that the program has been quitting unexpectedly pretty "frequently" (2-4 times over the course of 3-4 hours worth of coloring - on multiple days). Not sure if others have been having that same issue? Other than that, a lot of good changes.

From the screenshots on this thread, these latest changes to Redcine-X look absolutely amazing. Hats off to Red for obviously listening to all the feedback from people.

But I can't find the link to download. Can someone repost it?

Anyone at RED: How about creating a "Beta Software" sub-forum and putting the links to all these different beta releases (Redcine-X, Color plugin, QT Codec, etc) in there, so they don't get buried all in all these discussion threads?

Thanks,
Bryan

hey guys-
just tested out the MC Color with RedCine X 221.

I'm sure it's in the works, but do you have any idea when the trackballs/trackwheels will work with the Lift:Gamma:Gain?

And i assume it's coming, and it's probably been asked so i apologize, but will there be the option to break out a panel to a floating window?

thanks!

They work now. Sometimes EuControl isn't fully up when you start RCX.
Quit RCX and then reopen RCX and it should be good.

Would it be possible to have REDCINE X as plugin inside Adobe,Vegas as you can import the native r3d files in these two programs. Then one can actually edit and color correct from within the Edit software and finish the project a clean and simple workflow.

Just wondered what the latest plan for the Windows build is? Will it be seeing the light of day anytime soon, or will it be a short while? :emote_couch:

Soon. We're working on the audio and other things at the moment.

POST #: 26

Regarding QT transcodes not matching RC-X images while color correcting. Seems that there is a big difference in the new build on how RC-X now transcodes to prores.

Past transcodes using Redcine v. 20 were fine, but now the new build is very different---i don't know if it has to do with the new Redcode QT component. But in order to test, i have to remove it and install the old one.....mabye later today.

But any comments on a fix?
thanks

if i try to adjust the size of the timeline, the timeline collapses.. afterwards when i try to white balance using the dropper it goes to 1700 kelvin no matter where i click the image.

any ideas?

+1

This happens to me as well... and extends back to build 194 now that 221 is installed. MacOS 10.5.8 on 2 x 2.66GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon with 9GB RAM.

Me too! I don't dare to touch the timeline adjuster. Everything collapses, even though it is still there and I can advance back and forth with the Wave transporter.
