I'm trying to create an xml with redcine x pro, or export an xml from final cut pro x into redcine x pro so that I may color correct a fcpx timeline with raw footage. The problem is redcine x pro will not accept my xml, the file is greyed out. Help please?

Thanks

The XML which REDCINE-X Pro currently supports is FCP7 XML, which is not the same as FCPX XML.

The best (probably) and purpose built (certainly) way to go from an FPCXXML to a 7 XML is the aptly named Xto7 from Intelligent Assistance. It's in the app store. I've not used it personally yet as I haven't had the need, but I have used the "other way" app, 7toX, which works pretty darn well from my tests. That said, Xto7, the one you're looking for, is $50. Probably worth it if you've got a lot to do, but up to you.
Of course the free way to do it is DaVinci, but that comes with the headache of not really being made for the purpose and thus, not having any audio support. So it'll get your picture across (multi-track if I remember correctly) but you're on your own with audio. Also, I noticed in another thread that you were having issues linking to R3D in DaVinci with an ATI card, so you'd have to do the XML exchange with proxies, and then do the link to R3Ds in something else like RCX Pro.
So my advice is spend the fifty bucks and get the purpose built software. My 2 cents anyway.
Best,
