  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 348...

Can't send email from my location so posting bugs here:

Two bugs -- might be old issues:

Can't make 3D clips with 4KHD resolution.

Select two clips in a bin, control-click and choose "Metadata..." from contextual menu. RCX displays what appears to be hundreds of copies of the same metadata window on top of each other.

Thanks,
Bryan

Followup to the above. Actually RCX gets stuck in an infinite loop and will continue to open duplicate metadata windows for the two clips until you click the window close button about 20 times. If you just let it go, RCX will spawn windows forever until RCX crashes.

The 3D export works just fine, thank you! I have just another wish for the burn-in: it would be great if the burn-in would be duplicated and squeezed to 50% horizontally on both frames for side by side.

PC Install - Fatal Errors

I received 2 fatal errors when uncompressing the zip file for 64bit PC version of build 348.

Has anybody else encountered this issue?

Yes, getting same result here. Probably an upload issue? Red Team?

HTH

Paul :)

Tons of crashes today, the look is not kept through crashes, still crashes if . How do I send logfiles? 10-bit rgb has been turned on before rendering (not WHEN rendering)...

Redline install works well now, though...

Great, the Quicktime-export (PC 64bit) works pretty good!

When quitting RC-X there are still some windows standing on screen for a while. But okay, let`s wait for Build 350.

What I´m missing is a button to switch off all settings to see a before/after just by one click.

And I´m also missing some settings orientated by Adobes Camera Raw.
I`ve exportet a 16bit tiff and tried to get a DRI-like look. In Camera Raw I had to uses just three settings: Recovery, Fill Light and Clarity (<-also a very cool setting when used subtle) (shown here: http://screenshots.en.softonic.com/en/scrn/78000/78026/3_camera-raw-01.jpg ) to get the picture very close to DRI. This three sliders do there job very well.

But in REDCINE-X there is e.g. a huge difference between the slider "Shadows" and the Fill Light- Slider in PS:
The Fill Light works fine: the shadows are lightend up very naturally
The Shadow slider in RCX lightens up the shadows, too. But it doesn`t look realistic. It looks whitish.

Finally, I doesn`t got the look I wanted with RCX :(

BUG!!! :-(

BUG!!! :-(

Viewer Window runs black after repeat loading a clip.

Build 346 MAC 64 Version

Modell-Identifizierung: MacBookPro6,1
Prozessortyp: Intel Core i7
Prozessorgeschwindigkeit: 2,66 GHz

Cheers Alex

Hope it helps...

You might try the M and D buttons on the Viewer. While the buttons are held down the viewer shows the camera look (M) or default app look (D), then when released the viewer goes back to whatever grade you were working on.

You can also experiment with the Preview button on the Look Presets panel. It works similarly to the M and D buttons described above but allows you to preview look presets with a single click.

I'll check for hardware faults first. Working like a charm on another comp right now.

QUIO and esata conflicts in SnowLeopard anyone?

G

ah... still crashing when flipping SDI (now 8-bit YUV) on/off...

... and cannot force quit...

(up to now I only tested without SDI preview on the other comp...)

On this I have a dual 3,2 quad, 16GB RAM OS 10.5.8 (the other is Snow Leopard)

Fibre-channel towards a bunch of XSAN raids...

SDI on/off toggling causing crashes confirmed on different systems...

Never works to turn off prior to render. Must restart RCX.

Cheers!

does this sound right

I'm exporting 4k r3d full debayer to 8 terabyte internal raid on mac pro. redcinex build 348 to openEXR , 24GB ram , 6 Core 3.33ghz and getting 3 mins per minute render time without rocket. thats seems very fast

Bing-

Thats cool to know, can you confirm now? That is the system I am looking to buy in the next week or so, though probably 16GB ram, but still...

What video card?

RedCine-X is giving me a BIG red X

RedCine-X is giving me a BIG red X

Could be funny, but a deadline can be missed. I am creating SD dailies from the 4K 16 X 9 footage using RedCine-X. After doing many days without a problem (tanks to the AMAZING RedRocket), we are experiencing an issue:

Now, whenever I am creating a new project, and drag the footage from its source to the Bin that automatically places it at the Timeline (dragging to the actual timeline it does nothing), a hugh RED X shows up where the Image is supposed to be seen, with the usual file number. Also, when I place the cursor over any of such files, it says "Failed to Open".

I can open them directly using QT or FC or PP, so they are not corrupted at all. Has someone experience this? This is due tomorrow, which I felt confident since I acquired the Rocket as it has been performing flawlessly.

Thanks,
