  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

REDCINE-X Build 326...

XML Import

XML Import

Great Update

XML import leads to have only slug in the timeline. Still an improvement to v321 whereby the program would crash. Are there settings that would make the XML import work?

Thanks

Would it be too much to hope for Elegato Turbo.264 HD native support when exporting h.264?

That would be useful, although I think it should be implemented as generic QuickTime Export Component support if possible. That way it would work with other 3rd party components like Flip4Mac WMV as well.

If i want to activate my rocket sdi out, same problem as in the last versions, that the rocket video out box doesnt come up and it activates automaticaly 23.98 rgb.

speed and speed and speed up, yeah! thanks team.

App is fantastic. Not that it matters for grading, but I have an audio sync problem when viewing footage in this app. Anyone else? Solutions? Many thanks.

My 326 renders only black quicktimes, but 321 does the moving images trick quite well (on a snow-leopard laptop @ the moment...)

What is your color depth setting for QT output? Have it set to Millions. If it's Millions+, you'll get a blank alpha channel that makes your QTs play back as black. Should also set gamma correction to None while you're there...

Thanks Jeff. Will try.

Just borrowed a freshly installed Snowleopard thingy for a gig today.
Sounds like good advice all around! Soon done, and the files are good for what they're supposed to do, fortunately.

Is the color-depth setting a 326 option?
Cannot see it in 321.

(Gunleik on virgin trips into RCX land without a rocket. Scary stuff, but no crashes for about 100 clips and pretty efficient, too...)

They're in every version of REDCINE-X to my knowledge. In the same place where you choose which QT format you're encoding to.

Dump v321 go to v326. These are extreme betas with fast turn-around. If you want more stability, go back to v262. I'm playing with 326 here, but use 262 for my batch transcodes still as it's been perfectly stable.

The option is not there for ProRes.

I'm having no luck with Avid CMX3600 EDLs. I've tried several different styles, including 16 character tape names, 8 char, etc, with no luck. All result with RedCine-X just doing nothing.

-stumped.

:confused5: Er.... ???? :confused5:

Well, but that's the 4444 which I didn't use for a quickie SD offline-batch, but thanks.

It's not an option in 422 (which is the one I used)

Ouch.

Another problem.

I did only half debayer (standard), too. Jim probably don't want me to do half debayer SD for offline... -:)

I had 321 on my brand new fresh Mac Pro 2010 Quad 2,8 - and whenever i loaded clips with external audio attached to it, it crashed .... had to go 262 again, how sad :( ill try excited in a few hours if 326 fixed this. :)

326 does NOT play well with Expose or Spaces...Big bummer.

I've noticed it being faster than 252 though. I like a lot of the changes...allows us to be more organized.

Can't you guys add a feature to show what clips have looks applied to them, and reference the look? There have been numerous times that I've have to go back and re-transcode a clip from a few days earlier, and it's not as simple as it should be to maintain color settings.

Thanks,
Jamie

Ah, you're right.... It used to be an option for 422.. How strange, because that's when I first learned about it -- way back under original Redcine, that usually fixed the black frames and that was before ProRes 4x4 existed. I don't use 422 anymore, haven't touched it since 4x4 came out. And on 4x4, I usually leave it at Millions+ since QT actually understands the alpha with the newer codec... Hmmm..
