Hello,

A newbie here on the red workflow. I installed RedCine and it crashes on start. Splashes the big red icon on second monitor and then crashes. Any thoughts? Running 10.4.11 and QT 7.3.1 per recommendation on Red support page.

Hi Dylan,

I suppose "crash" was the wrong word. Unfortunately, the application won't launch for long enough to freeze. Upon double-click of app icon, redcine icon bounces in the doc, initializes the second display to go dark and then flash red icon. Just as the excitement builds, the application unexpectedly aborts the launch process/ exits dock, etc. No redcine.

Anything obvious I'm missing here. I guess a reinstall?

look into your libary....is there a redcine folder?

if no----create one manualy
if yes----delete it and start redcine, then redcine will create one manualy

thanks everyone, problem solved.

kaya, you pointed me to the problem. sadly we suffered the joys of having an IT dept. software was installed but could not create the library folder you mentioned with the inhibited permissions associated with my lowly login abilities.

thanks again. i'm sure i'll be back with more.
