I'm working on some Avid workflow tests, and I'm trying to render some .R3D files to Avid DNxHD QuickTime files. But, the basic color-correction I've set up is not coming through on the rendered QuickTime files. I just get the same un-color-corrected result every time. However, when I render out .DPX sequences, the color-correction is applied. What could I possibly be doing wrong?

Also, the quality options for DNxHD are "minimum, low, normal, high, maximum, lossless". How do these correspond to the Avid equivalent of "36Mbps", "145Mps", or "220Mbps"?

And finally, is their ANY documentation for REDCINE besides the basic QT tutorials I've found. I would really like detailed descriptions of every single aspect of the software.

Thanks,
Paul

hello??? does anyone at RED care??? I have the same question as that guy...is there anybody out there??? just nod if you can hear me

Erm.... Eddie you are replying to a thread from 2008 here, but if the bit in question from Paul's original post is creating DNxHD or DNxHR it's fully supported in REDCINE-X PRO as an export codec.

When you create your export preset pay special attention to your Color Space and Gamma Curve. For many years now DNxHD/HR has the correct corresponding nomenclature for each specific type of DNxHD/HR type.
