Is there anywhere a thread where suggestions for Redcine are discussed?
Just a start of my wishlist:

-100% magnification
-Color picker for gamma curve
-Ability to enlarge the gamma curve, change between the three color gamma curve and luminosity, add points which can be choosen with color picker.
-Multiple In and Out points.

100% magnification has always been there. Swipe up the top of the screen if the 1:1 function is hidden.

Independent colour curves would be great though! My favourite method of secondary colour correction is that of Photoshop which gives you full secondary colour control over each of six or seven primary colours as well as white, grey and black. Makes perfect colour a breeze.

I'd Love to have the ability to have Redcine open and still access my other running programs. I'm a multi-tasker at heart, and I'd love to be able to let Redcine export or just sit, so I can compare colour values, check exports, or even email while working in it.

Being able to round trip from my FCP timeline in one step, not unlike sending a shot or a timeline to Shake/Color.

Short of that (which ain't gonna happen) being able to read an XML file directly exported from FCP rather than doing the crimson step would be lovely.

One bug I hate... once I set up my directory to render to, and set that I want separate folders to render my clips individually, if I then go and change codec settings or format settings, this changes back and if I'm not careful and double check, I end up rendering one giant QT or dpx sequence.

Daniel, on PC at least you can do this now. Just make sure before you open RedCine that you have any other window open, for example Windows Explorer, then you can ALT-TAB whilst RedCine is doing its thing and switch back to the other window. That will keep RedCine running in the background and let you browse the web etc. When you click on the RedCine window again you'll go back to full screen.

Paul,

thank you for fullfilling one big wish so fast!!!

My pleasure :)

To see a full list of commands in RedCine, just press your 'H' key to overlay a help menu. Press again to hide it.

Also for multiple ins and outs on one shot, just go to Library and copy the shot to another slot (right click between slots to get menu to create new slot first). Then do new in and out points on that one. Not elegant, but workable if you absolutely need it in a pinch.

That is excellent news for PC users, but as much as I love my Mac, this is one thing I don't know how to do. Thank you though.

Actually, on the Mac, if your keyboard is set up to treat the function keys as F1/F2/F3/etc. (this is in the System Preferences), you can hide Redcine during a session by pressing F11 (similar to what Cmd-H does with most Mac applications).
