Hi Guys !

Sorry for this question, but can somebody tell me what that mean. You know the bar which is showing the actual clip/frame and estimating duration time what is rendered at the moment is red.

thx

Mine does that occasionally... Usually when outputting DPX or Tiff sequences, but my output still comes out OK most of the time.

Nevertheless wan't to know what it means and also what it means when only the characters blinking once red. first i thought its after a second of footage, but thats not... can someone from red tell us more?

Hi Rainer,

What version of Redcine are you using? you can find out by opening the app and hitting the H button, it will have the build number at the bottom of the shortcuts menu. I have not seen this, are the resulting files okay?

Thanks,

Kevin

sorry for the bad cellphone picture, but its not possible to make a desktop picture on osx when redcine is running....

I mean the marked bar gets red instead of gray. what does that mean? and sometimes only for less than a second the characters like timecode etc. getting red. what does this mean? it is build 82

thx

Latest available REDCINE build here..

And yes, sometimes the text on the bar flashes bright RED. Perhaps it's signaling some kind of error or buffering problem or something. Text didn't change color on this run, but I can consistently get the bar to turn red by running DPX sequence output.

I'm testing a new build and the color does seem to turn red when you select DPX for output, and back to grey for QT. Not sure if it has any meaning, my files are rendering correctly though.

Well, here's another mystery....

Output of 4K 2:1 R3D file to 4K 2:1 DPX sequence. Cruises along for about 3 seconds doing 3~4 fps, then starts running really slow for about 6 frames - like 1 frame every 1.5 seconds or so. Then it quickly flashes a "failed to process frame XXXX" message. The viewer turns blue and reports "failed to lock image buffer" in the lower left corner. Process bar is grey, but text is red. Rendering just stops. I have to exit and re-load REDCINE to work again, I've had this error crash REDCINE altogether too as soon as I try to click on something after the blue-screen-of-death.

Red bar

Red bar

I thought the red bar was normal, indicating its working away... but then I've only been rendering 2k DPX files.. all files have been OK, and thats across a network on Redcine XP (build 82)

A bit off the track but I'm rendering 2k Dpx's on build 82 , and yes the bar is red all the time, however I'm getting an unwanted vertical images shift in the rendered files of about 70 pixels , anyone else seen this , any ideas how I can avoid it?
