Hello,

we have an editing suit, we tried to run the redcine and no chance!
our system is :
- Mac pro dual 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
- OSX 10.5
- 8 GB Ram
- NIVIDA GeForce 7300 GT
- AJA KONA 3
- QT 7.5.5

in the first time we tried to run Redcine 3.1.2 in OSX 10.4.11
but no luck, when i clicked the program a black screen showed up
after that it quit !!
I tried to update the OSX to 10.5, and also no luck !
i heard that the problem from the disk permission, so i did a repair from the disk utility and from the command, and also no luck !!

i have a project to finish, any help ??, please

It has been a while since I used Redcine but I recall that when it did not launch it was because on first launch it writes a directory inside the library. When Redcine fails to do so it will not launch. I do not remember the exact solution but it is here in the forum search deeper.
Try also using redcine reset:

Hope it helps.

Check if you have under library a redcine folder. If not try to remove everything connected to red cine. then restart machine and reinstall a fresh download.

if this doesnot help try and create the folder redcine under library before launching.

Hi AIO,

Try using the Disk Utility to Repair Permissions, then download the newest version of RC and try to reinstall. Also make sure you screen resolution is at the highest setting.

Let me know if this helps.

Apologies for not answering your RedCine question BUT have you tried RedAlert (especially if you are eating up deadline time) ?
Get armed with RedAlert (and ClipFinder) and you will not look back ... I've not used RedCine for a while ... (BTW : in my experience the rendered output from RedAlert is better quality than RedCine).

Merry Xmas ....

PS : working from memory there was some talk in the early days about NVidia related problems for RC ... absolutely no idea if this is still the case ?
