Hi,

Newbie to using REDCINE here by the way.

Running REDCINE on 13" Macbook on Leopard, not ideal i know but should be able to handle it ... slowly. But, i can load footage and export but NONE of the grading tools in 'color' are working. Not ASA change, exposure, color or anything. Just loading, importing and exporting. Any help please!!!

thanks

I'm running REDALERT! slowly on a 2.33ghz mac book pro with 2gigs of RAM on Leopard. Its a really slow playback, but I can color correct. REDCINE is another story... I play a clip back for a few seconds, after a few seconds of playing, my screen goes blue, then I wait, and have to force quit in order to do anything on my mac.

I thought i could run REDCINE but sloooowly. But doesn't seem so.

REDALERT does work kinda. Can you make quicktime movies to play through REDALERT. What is the key difference between the two programs?

By the way i'm stuck trying to go back to quicktime 7.3.1 from latest. Downloaded from Apple but everytime i try to install it says a newer version is installed even though i thought i deleted it.

REDALERT runs on the CPU exclusively, which is why it works on any Intel Mac. REDCINE requires an good OpenGL graphics card. REDALERT will create new Proxy Quicktimes based on your grades but can only open one file at a time and will not transcode. REDCINE will open many files at once and can transcode internally. Redline will (I believe) transcode but has no GUI (except maybe Crimson Workflow).

Does that help?
