Three things that I can't figure out:

1. How can you make it so that clips are not imported into Redcine with the exposure all the way down (black screen)? I have to manually reset every clip that I import.

2. Can I create a look in Redcine or Redalert and save it to my SD card and upload it into the camera?

3. Is there any reason to use Redalert over Redcine on a Mac? The only advantage I see to Redalert is that you can adjust each color level individually.

Thanks,
Julio

1. Did you change some look settings in the camera menu ? (contrast, brightness, saturation, curves,...) Try resetting the look options in the video menu of the camera. Redcine doesn't like it when you play around with those settings...

2. Not yet. But they said it's coming. They are working on a new look format that will be supported by all their apps.

3. RedAlert is sometimes more stable / less buggy than Redcine. Also, RedAlert lets you generate new QT proxies, which RedCine can't.
And with RedAlert comes RedRushes and RedLine, which are 2 very very usefull apps, especially RedRushes.
RedCine lets you playback your footage and preview your grade in realtime (depending on resolution and CPU/GPU), which you can't do in RedAlert.
Clipfinder (do a search in the forum) is a very usefull little software too.

we had that same problem, nearly gave me a heart-attack post DIT'ing simple camera reset and a few aspirin did the trick >^_^<
