  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hi I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but I don't have time to search as the customers are breathing down my back.

I offlined a 41sec. ad and did the crimson workflow to import into RedCine. However when I output to 4K DPX and QT the cut clocks at 43sec. Apart from that everything looks fine, the cuts are in the right places.

There's no problem with the framerate (25).

Any ideas?

Hmm,

24 fps x 43 = 1032 frames
25 fps x 41 = 1025 frames

If you have 1025 frames then it's a speed problem - check the DPX count.

Somewhere in the back of my mind I have a feeling that Redcine can output the wrong timebase.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the replies.

RedCine counts 1085 frames in the timeline. My DPX count is 1086.

My FCP cut is exactly 41 sec 10 frame which should make 1035 frames.

I've compared the shot durations between RedCine and FCP and it seems like there's one frame added to every shot. Since there's 23 shot it might account for 1 extra second but I have 2!

I've done the whole process over again using Sunfish (I'd used Gowana's previously) and I was down to 1039 frames.

Many thanks for your help.
