RedCine crashes at start up

After downloading redcine did you drag the application to your applications folder?

Try re installing.

Yep, did that too. The application crashes there also. I'll clean and reinstall again when I get home tonight and cross my fingers.

I have the same issue

I have the same issue

Anyone come up with an answer to this problem yet?

I'm running Mac OS 10.5.4 - after clean install of latest Redcine, app launches, then hangs without a main window ever appearing.

My side PC, I think this causes from grafix card.

I am having the same problem. Tried trashing /library/redcine no joy, tried re-installing RC, no joy either.

Is there a way to properly uninstall the application?

Well, after many attempts to install Redcine I was able to get it loaded.

I had created 3 different user accounts when I first bought the mac. Admin, Guest and what I call a "working" account in which I use everyday. Whenever I needed to download or load an application I did it from the "working" account. It would prompt me for the user name and password and all would be well.

However, the one application that never installed properly was redcine. It would download, give me an application icon but always quit on startup. and it didn't place a folder in the library. And now that I think of it, I don't think I was ever prompted for a user name or password to install redcine from my working account. Perhaps that is what caused the problem.

But once I logged into my admin account and installed the application, Bingo works like a charm...well, as far as I can tell, I still have to learn the application now.

I HAVE INSTALLED IN MY USER ADMIN ACCOUNT AND NO SUCH LUCK. .NO REDCINE FOLDER ON MY DRIVE AND THE APP SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK ON MY LATEST UPGRADED MACBOOK PRO..

I am having MacPro Quad-core, FCP 6.0.2
can install RedAlert and RedRushes,
Redcine............can't ,,,,,,even keep deleting the redcine folder in library and reinstall and reinstall.....
Frustrated !!

We're having the same problems here. Redcine successfully installed on our 8 core Mac and runs fine, but it crashes every time on our quad core Macs. Usually right after boot up. Why would it work on one but not the others? Any advice?

I encountered a MBP that doesn't work like others in this forum.

What if login as "root" and do all of the trick?

I know this is a late response to the other posts, but I had the same problem today - so for those of you who encounter this in the near future...

I was having the same issue - crashes on start up and no RedCine folder to delete... so I figured maybe it needs this folder to start, so I created a folder in the 'Library' myself and named it 'RedCine' - after that, RedCine started instantly.

HD > Library > RedCine

I hope this works for others... :)

Hey Sophia. Thanx so much. I had the same problem. I was looking for that RedCine folder myself, but there was none. But I did not figure out that I should try what you have done. So you saved me some precious time! Thanx Marcel

I encountered this problem on a G4 at school, we cleared some of the disk space and solved the problem. I'm assuming there needs to be enough drive space for the mounted image to ... well .. "mount"
