  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedCine crashes at start up

I open RedCine and it crashes after displaying the opening "page" (for lack of a better word). It doesn't even get to the aplication interface.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mac intel 2 x 2.8 Quad-Core Intel Xeon
OSX 10.5.3
2 gig DDR2 FB-DIM 800MHz ram
RedCine build 108

This happened to me once.

I was working on a file.
closed RedCine.
Then I moved the file to another location.
Trying to open Redcine again - it wanted to open the last file but it wasn't there and it hung.
when I moved the file bacl to it's original loation - it opened.

Your milage may vary.

RedCine is not hanging. It simply launches and then closes after the "RedCine BETA...." page. What is the proper name for that anyway? Maybe the "loading application display"?
Anyway, I've tried your suggestion and it hasn't solved the problem. I suppose I can go back to build 90 for working with my build 15 footage. I'd rather work in RedCine for my build 16 footage though.

Is it possible that I should have not trashed build 90 before installing build 108? That's when the problem started... When I installed 108. Maybe there is a proper uninstall protocol that I should have performed first?

I thought to trash my prefs, but there are none for RedCine to trash. None that I could find anyway.

If I double click on the icon I will get the same issue the original poster had (it simply quites after displaying a page for half a second.

Please help.

Drag the icon to your application folder.
 
Now I double click the REDCINE icon in the Application folder. The launch page comes up for a split second and quites. What should I do? Are there known conflicts?

Did you try what Biba suggested?...
"Go to library , first remove RedCine folder , ther run REDCINE , and if it will not help , just check permissions on folder."

Cam McGrath 1124 REDcine not launching

Have tried re-installing, trashed Redcine folder under Library, etc...just stopped working after no previous problems. Anyone with any ideas greatly appreciated. Log file attached. Macbook Pro 1.83, 1GB RAM.

same problem with me. No Redcine folder in the library thus no log file. application will try and load for a couple seconds then quits. I've tried a few times downloading application with the same results. every time I erase all original redcine files and try again.

redcine312_osx folder contains installer log file and Redcine312_dmg

when I run the dmg it loads a redcine application icon and text file.

click on the application file and it quits on me. never gets me a redcine folder in the library.

which Library file are you looking in? Should be here...
