Redcine and supported video cards

Has anyone got Redcine working on a WinXP laptop like the Lenovo Thinkpad T61 with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M graphics? I am not sure if the NVS cards have a "programmable GPU" (which I gather the Quadro FX cards have) or if that is even a specific requirement for Redcine.

Can anyone comment whether a "programmable GPU" is required for Redcine to export properly?

And as a followup, is there a list of cards so equipped. (You'd think that Nvidia would have a straightforward list of all their product lines with detailed specs, but if so, I haven't found it.)

Yeah, I'd like to know what the recommended cards are too. Should we be previewing RedCine on a external preview monitor or does everything happen in the app?

Please do *NOT* ask questions in that thread, just post your configurations that (don't) work.... It's a beta product so we are still working on what hardware works and where there might be bugs or what will simply never work (old graphics hardware & cpu's)

Hi Rob, Thanks; I do appreciate the note, and that thread suggests the latest Nvidia Quadro FX or GeForce cards should work.

I was just hoping there might also be already-known limits by the authors of the program like "any non-programmable GPU card will not work" or "any card fully compliant with OpenGL 2.0 or 2.1 is supposed to work" etc.

Redcine works on my IBM Thinkpad T41p and T43.

Waiting for video card spec from RED, before I update the laptop, but I am also thinking to a quad core microATX pc for the field.

That's excellent news, thank you! Which video card do you have in the T41p? Any chance of getting a copy of a sample logfile, just to check?

My requirements are a little different than most here, I think. I only need to export a few individual frames from a .R3D file at any one time. It almost doesn't matter how slow it is, it just needs to actually work (unlike any of my current computers). So knowing that a T41p does export OK is very helpful.
