I recently shot the RedBull Rampage Mountain bike event for Dirt Magazine. RedBull are pretty full on regarding media rights and refuse any video coverage of their events other than their own in house production. So, seeing as I was going anyway, and I had my Epic with me, I decided to pull stills from my footage.

These stills were all shot 5k fullframe at 25p 4:1 compression.

Canon 70-200, 17-55 and 8-15 were the lenses used.

It sucked to not be able to shoot it properly, but it was fun using the Epic for stills work, even though it is not exactly easy to use compared to my 7D...

Thanks,

John

that looks insane....would love to see some motion!
do you use the 17-55 at 5K no problems with it on the wide end?

There is a slight vignette at 5K with the 17-55 pretty much all the way through to about 40mm. I just crop slightly in post. I would rather a 24-70 but it just isn't wide enough for my needs a lot of the time, and carrying my 11-16 isn't always an option for run and gun stuff where I only have space for one lens.
