I'm trying to get ClipFinder to see the Matrix off on the RSX file, but no matter what setting I use (camera, default, rsx) in ClipFinder, it turns the Matrix on.

The only way I can export a file without Matrix on is to export it from RedAlert. When I uncheck both the Matrix and Curve, and close and reopen the file, the new generated RSX file only saved the Curve as being unchecked and has rechecked the Matrix.

Why is this happening? Is this a bug?

So close...

I checked and it turns out that the matrix on/off setting is not saved with the RSX file.
Hence, no application (including REDalert itself) can restore the matrix setting from the RSX file.
Do you have any explanation for what the matrix setting does exactly ?
I have not been able to figure that out, i.e. I could not find any combination of parameter settings that REDAlert displayed the same with the matrix turned on and off.
Furthermore, there is a "no matrix" parameter in REDline, but I cannot find a corresponding parameter in the SDK.
Which means that I could add a matrix switch in Clipfinder and pass the same parameters on to REDline that REDalert hands over to REDline, but I wouldn't know how to correctly display on-screen what the render will look like.

If anybody can shed more light on this I'd be happy to update Clipfinder.

Cheers,
Hans

I read on the boards that the Matrix does a color conversion from what was recorded raw on the sensor. So if I was exporting a TIFF file and I wanted it to be as close to the raw as possible, the Matrix should be turned off. It's strange that the only way to do this would be manually each time you opened a r3d file since the rsx does not save the Matrix off setting.

Does anybody know exactly what type of color conversion the Matrix is doing and why it cannot be save on the rsx?

I guess I should not worry about exporting TIFF 16 bit, CameraRGB, Linearlight with the Matrix checked...?
