  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Red Zooms 18-50, 17-50 on Varicam LT?

Hi everyone, sorry to talk about another camera, but I’m curious about how the Red Zoom lenses, in particular the 18-50 or the 17-50, would perform on a Varicam LT with PL mount. Has anyone had a chance to try them? I’m looking for a light-weight zoom lens I can put on the VLT that may not look as digital as some of the newer lenses. I thought about buying one of these on eBay soon. Any thoughts? Also, I saw online people guessing that these lenses were rehoused Sigmas or Tamrons but other people were saying the optics were made by Oakley. Does anyone know for sure who produced the optics? They look like great lenses, I wonder why they’re not being made anymore. Thanks!

They are still relatively new lenses, and I don't think will give you any less of a modern feel.

I don't believe they were made by Oakley.
