Red zoom 50-150 / Digi Optical 50-150

Hi,
i`ve got an old RED 18-50 Zoom and i like the look and sharpness very much.
Because of that reason i`m interested in a 50-150 but...everyone told me that this is a very very bad lens.

Now i want to ask the cummunity about it. Is it really that bad or is it like 18-50 from image and mechanics?

If you like the 18-50 you will love the 50-150.

in my opinion the 50-150 is actually slightly better, or perhaps the 50-150's I worked with were treated better during their lifetimes because there are fewer of them and so the ones I used were in better shape. I've seen some very abused 18-50's hahaha.

Yes i know it`s hard to find a 50-150 but i think it`s the better choice because of weight.
But i will take a closer look to the tokina you`ve suggested.

I like mine. It is sharp. Mechanics a bit sticky but after a little tlc from a lens tech it's been fine. They are a good low budget option.

I love mine - and as Ryan said above, after a trip to a lens tech it is buttery smooth. I often wish that the close focus was little closer...
