Hi Guys,
Floh Peters of Magic Eye has produced this Video overview of how fast and simple it is to edit your native R3D files with the new media100 Suite V2.
Please check it out here: http://borisfx.cachefly.net/borisfx/webinars/Media100_Red_Workflow_V2.mov

Any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up here on this forum or give us a call.

Also, Media100 is currently running a special on Media100 Suite V2. You can currently purchase Suite V2 for $595.00 (regular Price $995.00).
Of Course, Upgrades are available for exsisting Media100 users (any previous version).
Free 14 day trial versions of Media100 Suite v2 are available at our website as well.

I am really looking forward to some feedback from RED users.

All the very best,

Matt Caravella

As a former Media100 guy that looks very nice. Do you know what computer and drive setup were used here for this test? Also I go back to Media100 with the breakout box (on a Mac 9600 with 4x9GB ATTO hardware RAID) but I sold everything, any chance of the former user discount :–)

Hi Rich,
I will contact Floh and ask what the Specs on his sytem were for that video.
As for the Former user discount, that's not a problem at all. Give us a call (800) 832 8188 and I'll take care of you (and that goes for the rest of you that are interested).
Thanks for taking the time to give us a look.

All the best,

So After checking in with Floh, he used the following:
current gen MacPro 2.4GHz with 2*4core CPUs (16 with HT).
Floh added, "But I also edited RED material on my current genereation MacBook Pro (17" i7 4core 2.2GHz), and it gives nice realtime performance as well. On our older MacPros the Red workflow is not much slower than on the newest one.
For the tutorial I used the standard internal system drive for the Red playback. Of course it is even more responsive when playing back the footage from a RAID."
