Red Workflow on a Monster Computer

Was it 5k running inside resolve at 24fps? What was the raw settings? Halfres good?

The files were 5k in Resolve at 24fps. Not sure on the res but I checked the file we did yesterday and image scaling says "match timeline". We brought it in as an edl import and in Premiere it was at 5k. Does that answer your question? Sorry I am just starting to use resolve lite.

Hey Joel, for the sake of time I think Dave edited out the first test we did in Resolve. Initially we tried everything at full 5k, but the computer wasn't having it. We ended up having to go down to 1/4 in the Camera Raw settings page at 8-bit for the footage to be playing back 'close' to real time (22fps or so).

I've heard it said by many that Resolve really likes having a discreet graphics card, that seems to do wonders (though I can't personally confirm).

Thanks Jake, I was curios to se what perfomance Dave get out of a single cpu/single 680 inside davinci. Did you try any 4k?

my hackintosh machine can playback about 50 blur nodes 1/4 5k real time without rocket or 1/2 premium with rocket
6x4,5Ghz
64gb ram
Gtx680 4GB
Gtx 690
And there are way more pwerful machines...
