hey there,

I am shooting with two red one cameras on the weekend, in a studio with a green screen and tungsten light grid above it. the green screen is pre-lit even by the studio already, so i figure i don't have to change anything - put my subject in front, light it, and off we go.

a colleague of mine mentioned that he did some green screen work with RED recently and that he too used tungsten to light the screen and the subject and when trying to key the green out, he had a lot of noise in a blue channel

i am not wishing i could track 80C filter for both cameras to convert the white balanced chip in red one to tungsten, but am having no such luck in my city.

Since it really isn't an option to put other lights onto the grid above the screen, i can either go ahead with shooting as is and hope for the best in keying or i could put some gels on all 7 lamps that are used to light the green screen and colour correct them that way. Lamps in question are: 4 x cyc, 1 x softbox, 2 x 2k.

The subject would be lit by tungsten lamps too, but i could get couple of HMI's for that if need be, although i don't really see the purpose in that ....

any thoughts?
Should i shoot all tungsten lit or should i colour convert the green screen lamps?

any info by those that have shot green screen with red with tungsten would be great - to hear how easy or hard it was to key it out. keep the green screen lit even, soft, etc is no issue - i shot many green screen before ... just never on RED

cheers guys
Lav
