RED V-RAPTOR 8K 120fps, 2K 600fps
by
Studio 10 by Voice & Video
I appreciate everyone doing the tests and showing off footage, but, in my opinion, it has been proven that the 2k is way too soft for professional work. In every clip I've seen, it looks like it has missed focus, even at 24fps. With that said, the 4k - 8k range looks incredible.
If anyone has the Canon RF speedbooster, I'd love to see that combined with something like the Sigma 18-35mm cine lens (or some other nice Super35 lens) at 4k's highest frame rate. I think that could be an excellent combination and the best bet for great frame rates and acceptable IQ.
If any... maybe its a non issue? Hopefully, cause I'm gonna pull the trigger on the raptor as soon as its available in black![]()
Cool presentation.
Can tell RED is entering a stage where they're refining the tech and settling into a matured design philosophy.
TBH- this current iteration of RED reminds me of the Apple of the mid 2000s which saw some of the greatest tech innovation that set Apple up to be where it is today.
RED already has a decent presence in the industry, but I honestly think these latest cameras are going to see much greater adoption than what was previously accomplished.
Between the form factor, cooling, considerable sensor advancements, color science, UI/UX with RED Control there's too many advances to be ignored.
The new RED color science as shown in Komodo and Raptor truly stands on its own. The look is like the new Kodak 52xx of sorts.
V-Raptor XL may be the final nail.
