Have there been any commercial fashion photographers using a Red One in a fashion photo shoot for a print campaign? I'd like to see the first printed magazine ad using a full-page RED image. I've always envisioned the possibility of being able to capture every possible moment of a photo shoot and then be able to go back through later and find the best frame. Much easier than trying to "capture" the perfect moment. Of course, this kind of talk often makes professional photographers very nervous about their trade as though there is something magical about being able to snap the shutter at the "right moment" when hair, expression, clothing and background are all in perfect combination. For me, if you can concentrate on focus, lighting, lens choice, framing and etc. instead of snapping the shutter, why not.

I'm in fact in the works of a shoot were I use both a Canon 1Ds III and my RED, both with Canon L series lenses, for a photo shoot which will serve as pilot for an upcoming film project were the central character is a High Fashion photographer and shooting a Lingerie Calendar/Book which gets shot both with Still frames and moving frames.

The shots form the RED will be both used as Stills extractions and behind the scene moving frames.

Will post some when possible.

Thanks Ketch. I will look forward to it.

P.S. If you have the time/opportunity, please try to "freeze" the model for a few minutes and take the EXACT same picture, same lighting, same exact lens position, same lens on both the Red and the 1Ds. Perhaps hang two ping pong balls from the ceiling in front of the lens and maybe back left of lens to match up the two shots as closely as possible. If that's too time consuming or not possible given the demands of the shoot, at least try to shoot the same scene with same lens on both cameras.

I can do better then that, shooter, I'll screw in the camera on top of the RED, directly on to the top mount, but this will not be very soon, but soon in off, tone of work to finish preproduction.

Hey Ketch. That shoot over now? Got those stills?

Not yet shooter, have postponed the shoot already two times and will have to postpone a third if I don't get the Birger mount next week, as the shoot will use exclusively Canon Glass and the 1Ds III and RED #349, both using the same lenses.

This is also because the shoot will be later repeated in a feature in preproduction, were the photo shoot is part of the film story and will be filmed all with REDs as well as #349 will be filming and be filmed.

just a little longer.

Ciao
