Hello,

We are very proud that we managed to get the RED One in a underwater housing and survided 2 days of shooting. We rebuild an "ARRI HYDROFLEX" that is normaly just for an ARRI 435. Thanks to all the People from ARRI that helped us with all there knowlege although they had to work on an RED ONE. :ranting2:

It realy worked perfekt and so our RED can go 100 meter deep now.

We where just filming 5 meters deep. We had an Monitor inside and outside the water for the diving DOP (Sascha Mielke) and for the clients.

We are in Munich and this setup is now for rent. So give us a call.

See the attached pictures. We will post some of the footage that was filmed 2K/100fps later. Very impressive pictures of a diver that jumps from a 10 meter high diving tower towards the camera that was under water.

Prost from munich...

Phil

....took us three weeks to get the RED inside this housing...but now it works perfect!!!

my prototype housing's been back with mike at aquavideo for about 2 months now so i reckon that's pretty quick!!

come on mike, enough's enough - i need it back!

hahaha,

David, alright point well taken:biggrin:

Have shipped several housings since then for customers using the Arri 8R and some other Arri pl lenses and they've been shooting around the world - Africa, the philippines, Alaska, Bahamas, etc. for months now.

With your housing - I've been waiting for the Birger saga to finish, but now I'm leaning toward maybe having an external box for the knobs with just a cable into the housing. A little more expensive but easier to add at anytime - and maybe a little less clutter inside. Your housing is sitting here - just need a day or two to get your custom handle mount welded on and then hardcoated and should be able to ship next week. I'll put a port in now so you can add smart mount control a little later.

hey mike,

i think that's a good idea. i'll make some lens decisions when i get the housing back and get gears made up here as required.

i'm still very optimistic that we'll have a canon electronic mount sooner or later, but i'll have to use PL in the mean time.

i'll pm you now with more stuff - not wishing to ruin this thread with our chit-chat!!

cheers,

david

Oh my god! This thread leaves me speechless! Unbelievable photos, guys!
Thanks for the inspiration to take things to the "depths" of one's imagination, which in fact, will never equal mother Earth's!

Now for a rental quote.... ;>)
