It's a command line tool. Go to Application folder, Utilities. Start "Terminal".
in that windown type
>redundead
and you see an example:
redundead <input device> <output dir>

like:
redundead /dev/rdisk9 /Volumes/newDisk

you may also need to:
>sudo su
-type admin password-

I'm trying to test this out but can't seem to figure out the destination portion here is what I typed:

redundead/dev/C012_0108PV/Volumes/macintosh hd/users/teamwb/desktop/test

This is what it sent back:

redundead/dev/C012_0108PV/Volumes/macintosh: Not a directory

Am I in the ballpark?

Close!

You need to leave spaces between all of the arguments, so:

redundead<space>/dev/C012_0108PV<space>/....

The OS works out where each argument (or input variable, if you like) starts and stops by using spaces as a delimiter, so the spaces are very important (as is the case of characters).

HTH,
Dom.

Thank you all by the way.

I guess I'm just not cut out to save footage.

Dom, i did what you said and it told me it was done. Where it was done to I can't tell. I checked the folder and there was nothing there.

I must still be doing something wrong.

If you typed the /.... at the end just like Dom did, then you won't have given it a directory to go to.

It would be nice if somebody would create a nice gui for this, or even an automator script or something to make it simple.

That somebody would have to be better at those things than me though.

I didn't have the space there. I tried it with another cf card and the same thing happened.

Am i not telling it a proper place to put files i wonder?

I wish I knew more about using terminal ect.

Same thing here. Replays done! but i can't find the files in the directory
:sad

Well now I don't feel so bad. At least i'm not alone in the boat ........ so the life line gets thrown out again.

Can anyone help us? Please! :patriot:

All drives on a mac can be found here:

/Volumes

If you have a external drive that is called "BAKUP", it also mounted as:

/Volumes/BAKUP

To test this, type in termainal:
cd /Volumes
ls

now you see a listing of whats there.

If you need the ID of a drive go to Application>Utilities>Disk Utility

Here you can see all your drives, and press the "info" button and you see information of the disk. Under the label "Disk Identifier" the disks ID is shown.

redundead<space><Disk ID><space><place to save files to>
like
redundead /dev/disk9 /Volumes/BAKUP

So if I am using the computers hard drive, will it work?

volumes/macintosh hd/user/.......... /test

Should that work?
