Looks like one of the pin ports was too tight, and when I removed the cable from the LCD screen, the pin was pulled off and now stuck in the LCD port, making everything on screen a pink tint. You may also want to know that for something like this, it is not covered in your warranty. Now I have to pay the price by getting it fixed. I am so bummed about it, especially since the cable is 200+ bucks. Why wouldn't this be covered? It wasn't wiggled from left to right, it was a straight pull releasing the locks of the LCD cable like you're supposed to. Now I'm deathly worried that if it gets fixed, to ever remove the cable from the LCD again, which is ridiculous. None of the other ports when removed did this. Has anyone else had these problems? I'm afraid of this happening again if I were to ever remove a cable.

What is the official RED policy on warranties then? A cable that doesn't last one day, and it's not in warranty?

I saw another thread about a user who updated to 3.0 and somehow toasted his flash card, and he said it was not covered.

Do you have some kind of document that shows you what is and what isn't covered?

BTW - Master Card, besides doubling any manufacturer warranty up to one year (or adding 1 year additional warranty to one of 3 years or less), has a purchase security program for 'eligible' items (I need to ask which are eligible) for something broken or stolen in 1st 6 moths up to $250.

I did call MC about purchasing the Scarlet, and that is eligible (up to $10,000 repair or replacement per occurrence), so that's what I'm using.

You might touch base with them on any more components you buy? 800-356-8955

Marden, I see you contacted your BOMB SQUAD rep and we issued you a RMA to send us this RED Touch 5.0" LCD and LCD cable for evaluation. Please send me an email at nick-dot-grow-at-red-dot-com. I would like to understand why you believe this would not be covered under RED's warranty.

Les, RED's warranty information is available on our website here: www.red.com/terms-conditions.

Looks like Nick answered this.

Thank you Nick, will do. The reason I am to believe it wasn't under warranty is because my Bomb Rep said it wasn't and the document I received for the RMA said it didn't fall under warranty, but it did sound pretty generic. So now I'm not sure who to believe.
