Will it be possible to receive a credit for the 4.7" in the base i/o package and just pay the difference for the 7"? The 4.7" looks so tiny....lol

+1
Me too, altought 7" is twice the price, Im concerned about only 350NITS opposed to 400 for the 4.7" Thats impirtant in outsides. 350 might be insufficient. Any one with tje new 7" can share his outside experiences, is it sufficient or not, im not sure I think the brightness is low.

I always use a Hoodman with my 7 inch outdoors during a day. It was the same with the original 5 inch touch. These are not daylight monitors so don't even try, what's more, because of the glossy screen a hood is a must to avoid reflections.

I asked my Red rep this exact question a couple of weeks ago and was told that the contents of the base packages could not be modified.

That's too bad. I'm on my phone and too lazy to do the math but what is the savings for buying the Base I/O vs buying everything a la carte? Is it significant or would switching from a package to buying what I want (7" vs 4.7") be around the same cost + the difference in the more expensive monitor?

Or consider selling your 4.7 at a slight discount. There may be many who have Weapons and need a small lightweight touchscreen monitor for other uses. I sold two 5" monitors to people with just such needs at almost full price after discontinuation and before the 4.7 was known.

Not too surprised, Kevin. The packages seemed like $200-$400 better, but I wanted larger mags and the redvolt expander. So I went with brain only.

thank you Demetri, can you point or linkbtobyour hoodman or covertap solution ?

FYI, The latest Beta and Release correct the tearing issue perfectly!

The Open Gate (not in the relwase version) eliminates the judder/jello, which was not very prominent on the 7", during horizontal pans as well (YMMV noting this anyway).

Great job in firmware updates!!

Thank you very much
