Hi,

Here is my problem:

i have a Red Station mini Esata. I've been using it with a 48GB SSD. WHen i open the card's content with Red Cine X pro, i can access it very quickly and play 2K footage in real time at 1/2 the res. When i used to copy the card's content through Windows explorer it would only take a few minutes max to unload several gibabytes (using FW 800). My system drive SSD fried recently and i replaced it with a new one. The computer runs smoothly. But now, when i want to copy 8 gB from my card it takes something like 9 hours or so (data rate between 80 and 130 KB/s). However, i can still access the footage smoothly. I tried copying other files on the drive and there is no problem.

Anything i could do? because for now it takes about 5 days to unload 40GB ...

If you're not having trouble playing back directly from the card, the culprit is likely something else in your system, like the storage you are copying to. Have you tried copying to a different disk?

sounds like a bum ssd in your system drive, its the only thing that changed from what what you indicated to me. If you have another system or another Redmag you can swap stuff out and give that a go, bad firewire cord? just try any and all the cords, the system, the mag, the mag reader... only way to know is to swap with known working back ups...find another reddie living near you if you dont have spares to test as far as parts go, or hang out at a rental house a lot and maybe someone would help you test...
