On 15" models, Apple ditched the express 34 for a slot that reads SD cards (common in all but the top end DSLR's). I was hoping there's an adaptor for that slot, but I guess I'll look into the new connection bus. Thunderbolt. Anybody using that yet? Hopefully Red will add that to the Red Station, since it's 12x faster than FW800.
.....T-Bolt will only act as a PCIE extender as i see it.....so you won't get 12x faster from a device...BUT, you can add multiple Esata devices out of T-Bolt to say a Estata bridge. That's what i'm pretty happy about....going out T-BOLT to a Blackmagic and Esata bridge.....(did i say that right?) Anyway, i believe when you look further into T-Bolt, it will allow users of say I-macs to run Esata and those on MacPros as well to run multiple devices---estata an (the situation i think of) a blackmagic card--or at least out of MY or your Desktop when your PCIE slots are full....i think that is the magic of the T-bolt....Please do correct me if i'm wrong or something new i may not be aware of.
