After watching the "test"- Im honestly not sure if the Red beats the 5dm2, there are so many variables. I think its more of apples to oranges kinda thing.

I've been cutting some RED footage together with Canon 5D MkII footage for a TV spot, and for the most part, they go well together. Sometimes the 5D stuff can have that glossy HD sheen with too-bright colors (very similar to my Canon HG10), but it's a fantastic low-light performer in areas where the RED has to push ISO into the four digits. God help you if you need serious color correction with 5D footage -- mess with the curves or levels too much and you see some really gruesome compression artifacts.

PMA09 is up and the nikon d400 is about to be announced. Full size sensor and 1080p/24fps.. lets hope they provide manual control... I'm sure the nikon will shoot great in low light (3200 iso)
