  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I have started building my scarlet up for some larger shoots with 19mm rods, multiple monitors, and lots of accessories etc. Love how these cameras can be very small, or very large, if needed. Have any of you wondered how much weight the top mounts on Epic/scarlet can take. Has red ever addressed this? Feels solid, but would hate to overload it.

would love to hear what RED suggests as a safe max camera weight

Good question, also might depend if you have a top plate screwed in or not.

Yes, with the top plate I would think it would be safe to have significantly more weight off the handle as the distribution is spread across the entire top of the camera.

I asked a similar question a while ago and never got any answers. I would like to know as well.

Anyone ever heard or read anything from RED on this?
