Red Sighted in Wellington NZ

KETCH, I am very glad you are out, about and moving forward.

Cheers,

Andrew

Mark, sounds like a blast! :nuke:

Well the thing is there was a certain similarity between working with Peter Jackson on his early projects and the whole RED thing, and that is a sense of community, even family if you like.
Wellington was pretty small in the early 90's film wise..still is in many ways, we all knew each other and still do.
When you bond well you work well.
As a late but very proud RED reservation holder the feeling coming through on these boards is incredible, we are all on the same journey and already its as if I have made new friends.
Please excuse the rave !!

i'm in a strange position. not sure how much is public knowledge or how much is still secret. what do you lot know. anyone been to masterton recently? if anyone can answer that question then they know i know

anyway, if peter jackson gets some reds then of course they'll rule the world! if anyone can make the most of this technology, he can

"Masterton is located in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand. Located in the south east of the North Island, Masterton is just an hour away from the capital city, Wellington. You can see working farms, country gardens, and wild coastline complete with seal colonies. You'll be awed by the region's unique natural heritage. The rugged Tararua Mountains to the west and the wild Pacific Ocean to the east create a sense of isolation and wonder. The untamed coastline from Palliser Bay in the south to Akitio in the north is rich in Maori mythology. Discover New Zealand's rarest birds at Mt Bruce National Wildlife Centre, or watch seals at Cape Palliser where famous Maori explorer 'Kupe' landed. A full range of classic kiwi adventures are on offer from jet boating to hot air ballooning, from superb fishing to surfing."

... let me guess - some awesome location for shooting with RED? :shiftyph34r:

So to sum up, you were there with Red, and we can presume jarred, jim and I'm guessing peter jackson? So far correct? You're probably not Peter Jackson himself because I'm sure he's too modest to write "...if peter jackson gets some reds then of course they'll rule the world!". And we know here that he has already ordered at least one, so either you don't know that or don't know if you can highlight that fact. I've got no idea what Masterton has to do with it. Doesn't appear to be a place related to peter jackson or any film that I can see from a brief search, sounds like a small place so I imagine if one goes there you'd pretty much know what's what fairly quickly perhaps... dunno, I'm guessing you work at Park Road or something??? Hot or cold :)

Either that or you want us to believe you know something and you're just making stuff up :)

The Castlepoint beach races ? RED seem to like shooting tests of sport related events ? LOL.
PJ's massive theme parked holiday home just outside Masterton also...

Tom,
Do a google search on 'masterton' & 'peter jackson'.

You know you want to!

Cheers,

Another good reason for RED to be in New Zealand, its diverse climate makes it great for real-world testing. You can go from warm subtropical to severe alpine conditions in no time.

Its old news but it looks that they are well prepared for realtime 4K

Peter Jackson's Wellington, New Zealand-based Park Road Post has installed a Pablo 4K - Quantel’s next generation non-linear color correction system - to enable a realtime 4K workflow for the award-winning post house. ...
