I am hoping that when Red releases the new cameras they can have a pre-purchase class for people who are buying cameras can go and find out the differences? So much technical jargon is tossed around on these sites that it is hard to tell what is going on. I would think most of the people here are modern day video guys who point and shoot and are not up on technical details and don't care about the technical side and just want good looking images. This is hard to get across when you see them at NAB.

Things I would like to see in a class.

1. Differences in the different sensors when used with the same lens and different ones.
2. What manual NIKON,CANON lenses will look like compare to the RED lenses and higher priced lenses. Perhaps people can bring their lenses and see the results.
3. The work flow from shooting through the editing program.

Perhaps there is already something if not I think it will help people decided what camera is best suited for the kind of shooting they do.

just a thought.

Maybe by then REDucation will have had a heads up and will be able to discuss the Epic options.

I think in terms of 3rd party lenses youll have to do your own tests or trust the opinions of forums like this one. Having said that, im sure RED will have information about their own in house lens options.

Having a free training seminar for everyone who buys the camera could be harder than you think. Arent there 6000+ R1s out there now?

I don't know how many R1's are on the market right now. A free Training seminal might be harder, but dropping $20-$30 on the wrong camera package would be even harder for me to deal with.
