So very happy to finally have the camera. A Big Thank you to all the hard working people at RED.

Not much to say except.. hey RED, can you have the HDMI on by default... I wanna see something even though Im missing the LCD and SH cause I can't turn it on hdmi without ( I think.)

My first priority is to test Shot Logger Pro to see if it works with Scarlet ( Im assuming nothing has changed since Red One)
My Second priority is pushing the image to the breaking point

And most importantly, I will cure Arthritis with this camera and its all thanks to Jim and his amazing team.

Im thinking of naming it Hemi as in 356 Hemi, since I don't know anyone named Hemi it will make a great camera name. If I got 357 I would have named it Eastwood.

Ben

Thanks Webster, its the best fitting name for the serial I can think of. My HMI's are named Mary ann and Ginger ( go figure)

Congrats!

Agreed, HDMI on by default would be nice for when the camera shows up... less nice for people who forget and leave it on all the time, so the HDMI port is actively spitting a signal (static electricity? wasted power? not sure if it will send anything with nothing plugged in).

Anyways, congrats Ben!

Justin, PO was 0981, but I don't think keeping track will help, I don't see any correlation between the two numbers. And we all are going to be waiting for lcd's and SH for the next few months.

I guess by the time I get the rest of the parts it should be NAB time, then to figure out if FCPx is gonna be up to par or if I need to switch or just use FCP 7. Also going to totally need an LTO backup, unless someone has a better suggestion for long term backup.

I guess all of us that don't own a R One or Epic are going to have some teething pains figuring out the best workflow and a bet we see lots of new things at NAB that we will have to wait to get CS6 FCPX2, etc...

AND ALL I WANT TO DO is shooooot

Very sad to see so many Scarlet users with no LCD or side handle. I have had my LCD since the middle of November (ordered on November 7th), sitting with the rest of the accessories I ordered then.

Ditto. So many mismatched sets! I'd be interested to see what percentage of current Scarlet buyers have full kits vs. the accessory folks and the body-only folks. I bet there are more partials out there than operational sets at this point.

Just got my LCD today.. right after setting up an Aja IO not an hour latter did fed ex show up... YEAH!!!

I shot some indoors "i'm tethered to the AC cord" shots. All I can say is it is amazing what you are getting at this price point and for a quality level that is such a game changer.

Funny, I just ordered a 70-200 and 11-16 this morning thinking the LCD would come tomorrow... FYI, both lens are on sale right now.

As soon as I find out what Lemo connector goes to power, I will build a power cable for my bat belt... and then I shall be set free ;')

My RED XLR to 6 pin came today.. hoping to shoot this weekend if the weather plays nice.
