eh eh This is a good question! well we are talking about $ 15,000 against 50,000 dollar a mini Alexa ...
Ehehe just I can shoot shots with Alexa and Scarlet-w, only out of curiosity.

Similar shots with both would be great.
I'm impressed with the scarlet shots. It looks smoother than the DSMC dragon.

Just to clear up this issue, I was recently advised by Red Support the latest firmware ANA formats in either 2x or 1.3x supported on the SCARLET-W are:
6:5 in 5K, 4K, 3K, and 2K;
5:4 in 4K, 3.5K, 3K, 2.5K, and 2K; and
4:3 in 4K, 3.5K, 3K, 2.5K, and 2K.

Dude thanks so much for those. Looking a lot cleaner than DSMC in my opinion. Is this the standard OLPF? Good stuff! Super excited for the camera to arrive.

GUys...sorry...I need your help...I downloaded the file and FCPX can't read them...yes I know that soon will be an updated so for now I will download RED CINE...BUT...I have the lug in Red Apple Workflow installer (you can see when you open prreference) but I can't see which version is...and also how can I remove it? In case I want to updated with the latest one? I am getting crazy...lol...Thanks!

I got to be honest, i just sold my fs7, and was really excited about the scarlet w ticking all the boxes, but that 2k 240fps looks very very bad

The Scarlet was never known for it's slow motion capabilities. If you need higher frame rates on a regular basis, that's one of the reasons to go to the Epic or Weapon.

Sometimes clients do ask for slowmotion. 120 at 4k in that clip looked really good. The thing is when you are about to spend more than the double for a red vs a sony you expect it to tick all the boxes. These are exciting times for the camera markets, but there are a lot of players in the market right now. Varicam LT, canon c300 mk II, possibly soon the c500 mk II, red Raven vs red scarlet w. And then theres the super cheep Fs7, i own it for almost a year and it is very good for the price, i just sold it because i have a feeling NAB 16 will be hard for sony fs7.

how'd you wind up editing this footage? just using the prores?

I'm on a pretty outdated and old PC (over 5 years old) but I was able to edit and color very easily. I just transcoded the R3Ds into 720p Quicktime proxies that I used for editing in DaVinci Resolve. Then just replaced the proxies with the original R3D's and colored, then exported to a 1080p H264 final that I uploaded to Youtube. All done in Resolve.

Not necesarily. All DSMC2 cameras can do 120fps at 4K and 240fps at 2K. Just Weapon cameras have lower compression.
