I have a RED Scarlet MX which I have had for several years now and that has worked fine until today. Today I powered up the camera, which seemed to make the usual power up fan noises with the right lights coming on. The only problem is that while the fans are operating correctly nothing is displaying on the 5" touch screen. I hooked up a HDMI and SDI monitor to see if there is a video output but nothing appears on those outputs either. I tried a different cable to the 5" touch screen but that didn't help so it is not the cable. It does flicker momentarily when I plug the cable in and out but that's about it. I will take it to the local authorized RED service center tomorrow, but wonder if anyone has had this happen to them also and what the problem may be?

Thanks in advance for any information.

UPDATE

CAMERA IS WORKING AGAIN! I FLASHED IT WITH RELEASE BUILD 6.0.40 AND IT FIRED UP. JUST PRIOR TO FLASHING THE COMPUTER PROMPTED ME TO REPAIR THE SSD FILE SYSTEM WHICH APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN CORRUPTED. TRANSFERRING THE FIRMWARE AND FLASHING THE CAMERA THEN WORKED. BEFORE IT WENT DOWN I HAD ATTEMPTED TO FLASH IT TO THE LATEST BETA FIRMWARE WHICH I REALIZE NOW THAT I DID INCORRECTLY, WHICH IS WHY IT MAY HAVE CORRUPTED THE SSD AND THEN WOULD NOT FIRE UP. ---

THANK YOU EVERYONE INCLUDING BOMB SQUAD FOR YOUR HELP! IT WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED!! :-)

Just to cover all of your bases (not sure this would help), try disconnecting everything (Side SSD, Mount, Sidehandle if you have one, etc.) and booting up. Then try reseating/reconnecting just the Side SSD (make sure the contacts are clean) and reboot with a monitor connected it.

Honestly though, the fact that none of the other I/Os are working definitely isn't good. Still worth a shot.

Thanks Mike, will try what you suggested!

I've also tried using another cable and touch screen monitor. But the problem is still the same. At least I can eliminate the touchscreen monitor and cable. BTW, I've contacted Bomb squad but they haven't got back to me yet...
