Hi,

We are awaiting the delivery of our RED Scarlet this week. I am interested in buying two lenses for the Camera (we have ordered the Canon mount with it) and would like to confirm that they are indeed compatible with the Scarlet, and that they are usable with the sensor size of the Scarlet.

1) Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM lens (and this lens vs. the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8USM Macro Autofocus lens - this one has no IS, but since we shoot with a tripod, I assume that should be ok)
2) Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Lens

I just want to confirm that these two lenses will be compatible with the Scarlet brain, and that the camera will be able to operate the mechanics of the lens.

Thank you

Pierre Devereux

Pierre, when you say "camera will be able to operate the mechanics of the lens" do you mean focus and iris functions on the lens being controlled by the camera?

Hi all,

Thank you for the responses. I have ordered the Lenses and will take delivery when the camera arrives (currently flying around the US I think - on its way to a cold SA).

Having absolutely no lens experience, it is great to get feedback from those in the know. Lets see how the Scarlet and these lenses work with miniatures!

Thanks again

Pierre
