Red Scarlet 2/3'' or S35

Crank 2 was shot on HDV and printed out on 35mm film for crying out loud! Any of the scarlets, in the right hands with the right dedication can look fantastic. Period.

If your goal is "just" to make movies, I guess you should worry a tad less of which camera you should get - as long as you stay away from cheap 1\6" camcorders. The Scarlet ain't a safe ticket, just as the Red, the Epic or any other camera are. If you care (as you ought to) about the visuals, then you should worry to get the right people on the project (DP, cameraman, colorist etc.) - they are what eventually makes the difference, rather than the tools.

I've seen great stuff done on HDV and utter trash shot on 35mm film.

That said, I am really looking forward to see what the various Scarlets can do.
