Red Rushes Won't Output New Proxies To Separate Folder

Hi,

Does anyone know how to make RED RUSHES output new proxies to a separate folder. I have been able to output to the original R3D file folders but not a separate folder. RED RUSHES crashes whenever i try it, has anyone else had this problem?

There was a bug with that. New version coming out that fixes it. PM me if you need something desperately.

the reason Red rushes won't work is the script it writes can't make sense of drives and folders with spaces in the name....

we are in trouble here...

I have renamed the folders and drives.... now it only renders half the files!!!!

I tried bellow in Redline but...

REDline -i /Volumes/ARaid2/CatwalkShoot/CWA001/*/*/*_001.R3D --outDir /Volumes/ARaid2/CatwalkShoot/qtreffiles -w 11 -R 2 --useMeta --colorSpace 12 --gammaCurve 14 --filter 5 --fit 1 --QTcodec 7 --noClobber

how would I amend the above script to have unique R3D file derived ref .movs

at the moment redline goes crazy and trys to create all the files as one...

After 3 long days of wrestling with every posssible round trip Avid options I'm very f*****g frustrated..

So I finally get some proxies and they import bleached white into Avid!!

The only projects I have completed on Red are eye match Redcine hell....

I am accepting that I can't reliably render in RC (let me join the conspiracy club on this one)
I am accepting that I can't open any old RC files to match looks
I am accepting that I have to round trip through Automatic Duck
then through FCP (the irony)
then through Crimson
then I have to render to ??? from RC
THEN I have a EYE match them back into Avid

ALL this I accept if only things actually worked..

Sometimes RC renders Avid files... sometimes it doesn't
Sometimes RC renders all night... many times it doesn't

Even though I own 2 cameras... for avid post this beta hell is more expensive than most 35mm jobs I've done.. unless:

1 you are a computer geek fiddler with loads of time and slack deadlines

2 Start with Scratch and do a SR layoff...

3 like me you are not charging for this wasted time and extra expense

4 Don't really care about quality and can live with no pull

5 have enough space to initially render 'everything' out as Tiff 16 (the only format avid can digest as 10bit..... plus forget about trackablility)

two extra bits of info:

Proxies I'm using are H

FCP also decodes the white bleached out look (although not on every frame)

My only hope is my experiences stop some other fanciful fool (like me) taking Red workflow lightly...

Michael, there should be some new bits and pieces from Avid soon to get around the Automatic Duck-FCP-Crimson loop and let you prep for conform straight from Media Composer 3 -> REDCINE.

I would suggest you use the M proxy for offline, it's much, much faster and you catch errors faster. No great hassle matching back to higher resolution after the fact.
