It's a constant pain in the rear part of my body that RED Rushes is still so unstable. I'm running it on a completely fresh system (Mac Pro 8-core Nehalem 2.26 Ghz w. 16 Gb RAM and OSX 10.5.6) and it crashes very often. I've tried playing with different settings (2 clips/4 Procs per, 4 clips/2 Procs per, 2 clips/3 Procs per etc. etc.) but it makes no difference at all... It's an extreme amount of frustration in my life as a DIT that I can't just put the machine to work, go out to dinner and trust that it has done it's thing when I get back.

Please, RED, put some effort into making this a stable application as it is the Workflow/horse cornerstone for a lot of us. I'm already 9-10 hours on set and I don't need to be sitting in front of the machine when I get back and start transcoding dailies.

One feature-request would be for RED Rushes to allow syncing up with external audio files. That would be killer ;-)

Hi Tony

I have to second that. I´m having the same problems all the time on a feature right now.
What to do? I don´t know!!

Cheers

The only bug we've had crash reports from were all related to bugs in the apple UI libraries. Part of this was due to RR being a Tiger based app running under Leopard. Please try this latest B20 version of RA/RR as field testing hasn't uncovered any of the same crashes from apple's UI.

Thanks Deanan. I'll try the B20 version and let you know if that is any better. I'll be sure to copy paste the crash report and send it to you if I do :-)

I'm afraid version 20.0.1 isn't exactly working as it should (check attachment). Any suggestions?

I guess I'll be going back to version 3.6 again - that btw. seems to be less buggy if I hide the application while it's running...?!

Just a quick note... I've been hiding the application while transcoding for the past two days and haven't experienced any hickups at all in this time. Worth a try if you're having the same problems as me.

Can you email me with your settings? I'll try to recreate as much as I can here.
