So I'm confused about what kind of Rosette Red uses. I got some grips from Allstar and requested they come with a RED Rosette mount. They also offer Arri mount.
I got the grips but thought they gave me the wrong mount. So I told them they gave me the wrong Rosette mount and they shipped me out a new set...Allstar rocks BTW!
I just got the new Rosettes and they are the same. Did I get the mounts wrong? I googled Arri Rosette and it matches the Arri Rosettes that Allstar has, however their RED Rosettes don't look like they would fit RED gear and to me, RED Rosettes look just like Arri Rosettes. I'm talking about the teeth.

So, which of the following do I need to mesh with RED's other Rosette accessories?

The darker one on the left with the bigger teeth, or the silver one on the right with the smaller ones?

I'm confused...

My apologies to Allstar, they make great stuff.

I had a similar question recently re a Ronford Baker moose bar handle and was told by my bomb squad rep that RED rosettes are proprietary and not the same as Arri standard - he said RED rosettes had about 50 teeth... The rosette on the left looks to have c. 36 teeth and the silver on the right c. 60 (which I think is likely to be Arri standard ) so it could be that neither are compatible :(
Perhaps someone from RED could chip in and clarify?

Allow me. The ARRI standrd rosette has 60 teeth (actually they are referred to as spires or ridges). The RED rosette is not compatible, I believe with 58 ridges. Most manufacturers (ARRI, ALLSTAR, Vocus, Ronford, Element Technica, Aaton, OConnor, Blue Handle, and at least a dozen others I can think of) stick to the ARRI standard but RED chose to go their own way. Hey, their choice. But it does mean that one cannot mix & match between RED components and everyone else. Unless someone decides to make a spacer of some sort that adapts from one to the other.

This is interesting - I was hoping to buy the RED Collarbone and pillage my ET Mantis handles to attach to it - so this is not an option, because the rosettes won't match?

Bummer....

This modularity thing can be pretty confusing....

Total Bummer...

So what is that other mount that Allstar seems to be calling RED?

I'm looking at these "RED" rosettes from Allstar. They look funny and have some play when used with eachother, but maybe they do in fact work with RED rosette. I will ask.

Hi Jarek
Our Red Rosette is the same as Redone grip, not new EPIC grip. I'm not sure which type of rosette they are using now, maybe Arri Rosette.
Any way, if you want to change your rosettes, please contact to me.

Ah, that makes sense. Yeah I feel a little silly, I thought you sent me the wrong ones and then you sent me the same thing back lol! I will email you.

Any chance of you making the newer RED rosette mounts in the future?
